Terms & Conditions

Local House Clearances

Last updated: 2026

These terms apply to your use of this website and to any enquiry you submit through it. They are provided by Local House Clearances ("we", "us" or "our"), a house clearance and household-contents-buying business based in Blackpool, Lancashire.

By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or submit an enquiry.

1. About these terms

These terms cover two separate things:

  • Using the website and submitting an enquiry. This is what these terms cover.
  • Any later agreement to carry out a clearance or to purchase household contents. That agreement is separate and is confirmed individually with you. These terms do not form a complete contract for clearance services or contents purchases.

Your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law are not affected by these terms.

2. Enquiries are not confirmed bookings

Submitting an enquiry through this website does not create a confirmed booking, a guaranteed quotation, an accepted clearance job or an agreement to purchase any household contents.

An enquiry is a request for us to consider whether and how we can help. We will review the details and contact you to discuss it. Any clearance, any purchase of contents, and any price or scope of work must be separately assessed and agreed between us before anything is moved or purchased.

3. Clearances and contents purchases are agreed separately

We offer paid house clearance services and may also consider buying household contents that have genuine resale value. These are two separate options:

  • A paid clearance is a service we agree to carry out for an agreed charge.
  • A purchase of contents is a separate agreement to buy specific items, based on our assessment of their resale value.
  • Where we agree to buy suitable contents, their value may help reduce or offset an agreed clearance charge. This is always subject to inspection, assessment and agreement.

We do not guarantee that any item will be purchased, that any particular value will be offered, or that a clearance will be free of charge. No price, valuation or scope of work is binding until separately agreed.

4. Your responsibilities when enquiring

When you submit an enquiry, you agree to:

  • Provide information that is accurate and truthful
  • Have the right to instruct us about the property and contents in question, or to make clear if authority needs to be established first
  • Let us know about anything that may affect the safety or practicality of a clearance, such as access, hazardous materials or items that cannot be removed

For bereavement and probate enquiries, appropriate proof of authority must be established before any clearance or purchase can proceed.

5. What we do not offer through this website

This website does not provide:

  • An online checkout or payment system
  • A customer account or login
  • A guaranteed quotation or automated pricing
  • A confirmed booking or appointment until separately agreed

Any service we agree to provide is confirmed with you directly, separately from these website terms.

8. Limitation of liability

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from your use of this website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where you have statutory rights to bring proceedings in another jurisdiction as a consumer.
